J Rotherham short-listed for prestigious Manufactures Award

J Rotherham, the leading East Riding stonemasonry company and supplier of natural stone and composite surfaces to the bathroom and kitchen industry, has been short-listed for The Manufacturers Awards 2014: Small Sized Enterprise of the Year.

This year’s awards were launched at the House of Commons on 3 March. The launch was sponsored by Margot James MP and attended by Defence Secretary Michael Fallon. More than 200 senior business leaders turned out to support TM’s hard work in improving the image of manufacturing in the UK and inspire manufacturers to increase competitiveness.

The winners will be crowned at The Manufacturer of the Year Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner on 27 November at The ICC, Birmingham, which will be attended by more than 1,000 of Britain’s leading businessmen and women.

The Manufacturer of the Year Awards aim to create recognition for industrial achievement in the UK, at the same time celebrating the diverse achievements of specialists. In an attempt to inspire and show off the skills that exist within the UK, The Manufacturer Awards draw attention to the important role manufacturing plays in the country’s economy.

J Rotherham is in good company. Others short-listed include blue chip manufacturers such as BAE, Siemens Healthcare and New Holland.

Matt Rotherham, the Commercial Director of J Rotherham, is delighted his family company has been short-listed. “It is such an achievement to be shortlisted for an award with such a prominent reputation and high calibre of nominees. I am so proud that J Rotherham has achieved such recognition.”

Note: The Winners were announced on 27 December in front of an audience of 1,000 at the ICC in Birmingham. Sadly, J Rotherham did not win their category. That honour went to Burts Potato Chips. But congratulations to J Rotherham for making the finals.
