An exciting day out at one of the best race tracks in the UK was the prize in a competition from tools, machinery and consumables company Combined Masonry Supplies. Everyone who bought more than £300 worth of goods in April from any of the company\'s vans was entered into a draw to drive Director Richard Chandler\'s own VX220 sports car at a track day.

The winner was David Williams of Birkenhead Monumental, who, with colleague Ronnie Crawley, enjoyed a fabulous day at Anglesey circuit in North Wales - used by TV\'s Fifth Gear to test cars.

Neither Dave nor Ronnie had any track experience but, according to Richard, both made excellent progress, although Ronnie "The Spinner" Crawley did have one car-to-scenery incident. Richard said: "Of course I was nervous about sitting in the passenger seat of my car while a novice took it round the track, but they both listened to instruction and advice and I quickly relaxed."

When the day was over, Richard asked Dave if he would now take his own car to a circuit and he admitted he was sorely tempted. A good day then.
